Position Overview
The Technology Coordinator ensures that our Sunday worship services run smoothly from a technical standpoint, so that every person, whether in the room or joining remotely, can participate fully. This is a contracted, part-time stipend position compensated at $50 per Sunday. Full training will be provided, and we welcome candidates who are new to church AV work. We are looking for someone who brings a natural comfort with technology, a willingness to learn new programs, and the reliability and professionalism our congregation depends on each week.
Key Responsibilities
Sunday Morning Services (10:00 AM through end of service - roughly 12-12:30 PM)
You will handle setup and takedown of all technical equipment before and after each service, manage microphones for worship leaders, musicians, and congregants, run presentation slides for hymns and liturgy, record services via Zoom, and host and monitor our Zoom account to ensure remote participants feel welcomed and connected. You will also track and support any technical needs that arise during the service. We host services the first four Sundays of every month.
Special Events
If scheduling aligns with your availability, you will have the opportunity to provide technical support for occasional special events such as funerals, memorial services, and weddings. Pay for these events would be discussed at the time of agreement.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is comfortable with basic computer use, including email, Zoom, and presentation software such as Google Slides, and is willing and able to learn additional programs as needed. We're not looking for an expert; we're looking for someone who is tech-savvy, self-motivated, quick to pick up new tools, and dependably professional. A calm, problem-solving presence during live services is essential.
Hours & Compensation
This position is a contracted position compensated at $50 per Sunday (10:00 AM through end of service - roughly 12-12:30 PM), plus additional pay for special events. This position description will be reviewed and revised annually as needed.
Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to climb a flight of stairs to and from the tech tower and to move quickly through the sanctuary as needed, such as troubleshooting a microphone during a live service.
