No Data Centers NCW Meeting and Protest
Join the No Data Center NCW protest against Sabey, Microsoft, and AI data centers in the Wenatchee Valley on Tuesday, August 11th, 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM at the Convention Center! Everyone will be meeting on the Wenatchee Ave side of the Wenatchee Convention Center. Come for ANY part (like on your lunch hour) — no need to stay the whole time! This is a low-risk sidewalk picket and an opportunity to educate the community.
"Engaging Our Faith Communities for Free and Democratic Elections" with FAN
Tuesday, August 11, 6:30 - 8:00 PM (zoom)
Join us for this statewide, virtual training to learn how to engage your faith community this election season. The right to vote is sacred, fought for over generations and defended throughout the years. In the current administration, we have seen a renewed effort to suppress and limit the right to vote of eligible groups, suppress voter turnout, and purposefully create confusion and mistrust in the electoral system. As trusted messengers, faith communities can share accurate, up-to-date information about voting and have the relational networks to encourage voter turnout through honest conversations and timely reminders.

Request for Public Comment from Sarah Augustine:
Sarah Augustine is a friend of the Sunnyslope community, a Pueblo (Tewa) descendant, and cofounder and executive director of the Coalition to Dismantle the Doctrine of Discovery. She led "Decolonization for Transformation" here in 2024 and recently reached out to invite Sunnyslope community members to submit public comments about a petroleum pipeline scheduled to disrupt a sacred site in Minnesota that is sacred to multiple Indigenous Peoples (see details below, including a link to materials outlining the issue).
"The pipeline has been proposed to the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission by Megellan, which is a company that builds pipelines. This proposed pipeline will threaten the Pipestone National Sacred Site. This sacred site is the only place in the world where catlinite is harvested. Catlinite is the stone used to make pipes in a variety of traditions. I use a catlinite pipe myself for ceremonial prayer.
Organizers in Minnesota have asked us to share this appeal with folks across the country. Uniting our voices makes a difference. When we stand with Indigenous leaders, their voices are amplified. Please join us." - Sarah

We are hiring a Tech Coordinator!
The Sunnyslope Church is looking for a reliable, tech-savvy Technology Coordinator to help our Sunday worship services run smoothly, for everyone in the room and joining remotely. This contracted, part-time role starts at $50 per Sunday service (first four Sundays of the month, roughly 10 AM–12:30 PM).
You'll handle AV setup, run the presentation slides, manage microphones, and host our Zoom stream so that our entire community can participate fully. No prior church AV experience required, full training is provided! We just need someone comfortable with computers, cool under pressure, and dependably professional.

Fellowship Hour Treat Schedule
We have a treat schedule for our after-service Fellowship Hour in the Gathering Space (the space directly behind the sanctuary with all the bulletin boards). This schedule is based on the first letter of your last name.
When your Sunday rolls around, please bring something simple to share with the community. This doesn’t need to be elaborate (for example, cookies, fruit, or finger foods). Coffee will be provided.
1st Sunday of the Month: A-D
2nd Sunday of the Month: E-J
3rd Sunday of the Month: K-P
4th Sunday of the Month: Q-Z
5th Sunday of the Month: Community Feast Potluck (everyone brings something to share)
United Church of Christ Movement for Palestinian Solidarity
UCC delegation to West Bank
The United Church of Christ Movement for Palestinian Solidarity (UCCMPS) has been planning a UCC delegation to the West Bank for January 2027. Working with partners at Sabeel (the Ecumenical Liberation Theology Centre in Jerusalem), a trip experience has been planned that will deepen relationships, expand capacities for “costly” solidarity, and inspire individuals for the critically urgent work ahead. The group will be between 15-30 leaders who will meet Palestinian Christians face to face, hear their first-hand testimonies and wrestle with the implications of their call for solidarity, resistance and friendship in a moment of excruciating violence and immense need. Spokane Pride & North Idaho Pride Alliance present PRIDE CAMP hosted by N-Sid-Sen

Pride Camp is a gathering of people from the Inland Northwest who share a commitment to creating a foundation that encourages individuals to show up and thrive in the PNCUCC community. The goal is to cultivate connection and fellowship among groups that have too often existed in isolation.
The PNCUCC pursues this through co-reflection, educational opportunities, optional activities such as music, hikes, and campfires, facilitated group discussions, and open dialogue about the spirit and practical shape of future gatherings like this. Come share love for yourself and for others while helping to build deeper community, collective healing, and lasting connection.
