Worship

Every Sunday morning the Sunnyslope Church gathers for worship at 10:30 am. Those unable to attend in-person may obtain information about attending the service on-line by contacting the church office or going to our Contact Us tab and submitting your request for the Zoom link.

 

Our worship is intended to be helpful in our overall quest to follow the teachings of Jesus in our daily lives. The order of service is flexible and informal. It typically involves traditional elements such as the reading of scripture, preaching, singing hymns (old and new), and prayer. One feature we have found very meaningful is a time of sharing joys and concerns.

 

We try to strike a balance between group activities like singing and unison reading, on the one hand,      and time for meditation and reflection, on the other.  Many members participate in the leadership of the service as readers, liturgists, greeters, banner makers, pianists, technicians and even preachers when needed.

Our Order of Worship begins with Gathering (music and Call to Worship, followed by Hearing (scripture and Message)  and Sharing (meditation music, joys and concerns and prayer), ending with Sending (music and benediction).
